Memorial Service for Archbishop Anastasios in Tirana

A Synodal Divine Liturgy was held in Tirana to commemorate one year since the passing of Archbishop Anastasios of Albania. Memorial services took place in many cities throughout Albania.

The Synodal Divine Liturgy was held at the Resurrection of the Lord Cathedral in Tirana, presided over by Archbishop Iōannēs. Hierarchs, clergy, and people from Albania and abroad participated in the commemoration of the Archbishop.

The Minister of Education, Sofia Zacharaki, in a post, referred to the work of Archbishop Anastasios, emphasizing that it continues to inspire.

Archbishop Anastasios, who passed away at the age of 96, assumed the leadership of the Church of Albania in 1992 and contributed to the reconstruction of the Orthodox Church in Albania, founding schools and supporting social cohesion.
