Peter Mandelson, a Labour Party politician, has been released under investigation after his bail conditions were lifted.

The Metropolitan Police had been investigating him regarding allegations that he leaked confidential government documents to Jeffrey Epstein during his tenure as Business Secretary in Gordon Brown's government.

Last month, the 72-year-old was arrested and had his passport confiscated following information passed on by the Speaker of the House, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, citing a potential flight risk.

A police spokesperson stated that the investigation is ongoing. Mandelson denies any wrongdoing, and his lawyers have described claims that he intended to move to the British Virgin Islands as baseless.

His spokesperson also stated that Mandelson's arrest occurred despite an agreement to attend a voluntary police interview next month.
