Cyberattack on European Airports: Delays and Chaos

A cyberattack has caused significant delays and chaos at several European airports, including Brussels, Heathrow in London, and Berlin. Check-in and boarding systems were affected, leading to long queues and flight cancellations.
According to passenger accounts, waiting times to drop off luggage reached three hours. Brussels Airport reported that the check-in process is being done manually, causing significant delays.
Cybersecurity experts point out that the aviation industry is becoming an increasingly attractive target for hackers due to its reliance on common systems. Charlotte Wilson, a specialist at cybersecurity company Check Point, stressed the need for a united defense against cyberattacks.
