Europe is facing the brunt of the climate crisis, with heatwaves, floods, and fires impacting the continent. This year's July was the third warmest on record globally, according to the EU's Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S).
Record temperatures were recorded in various regions, with the Scandinavian Peninsula experiencing the most intense above-average temperatures. Turkey recorded a national temperature record of 50.5 °C in Silopi.
Heatwaves have caused fatalities, with an estimated 2,300 heat-related deaths in Europe from June 23 to July 2.
Floods have affected Central Europe, Northern France, and Northern Italy, causing severe damage. Spain has also faced widespread flooding.
Fires have ravaged thousands of acres of land in Southern Europe, with Spain, Portugal, Greece, and Turkey facing major wildfires.
Sea temperatures have also been high, with the Norwegian Sea and parts of the North Sea recording record high temperatures.
Globally, this year's June was the third warmest since 1850, with global temperatures remaining unusually high.
