Storm Risk: Strong Winds in 5 Regions on Friday

Gale-force winds are expected to hit Greece, with the August meltemia creating dangerous conditions in many areas. According to meteorologist Giorgos Tsatrafyllias, local storms, sailing bans, and a high risk of fire are possible.
Specifically, on Friday, August 8, winds may exceed 100km/h in the following areas:
- Cavo Doro
- South Evia
- Northern Cyclades
- Karpathian Sea
- Western – Southern Crete
Travelers planning to move from the ports of Piraeus, Rafina, and Lavrio are advised to contact local port authorities. In addition, it is good to secure objects in Attica, Evia, Cyclades, and the eastern Peloponnese. The gale-force winds are expected to persist, with fluctuations, until the eve of August 15th.
Strong winds have already caused problems in ship routes, with delays and cancellations in various areas of the Aegean. For example, the ship "TERA JET 2" did not approach the port of Heraklion, while the "CAT I" bypassed Serifos due to adverse weather conditions.
