Weather: Severe Phenomena in Crete, New Waves of Bad Weather

The bad weather is mainly affecting Crete and the eastern parts of the country today, with the Region of Crete declared in a state of mobilization «Red Code» by the General Secretariat of Civil Protection.

Heavy rains and thunderstorms are expected, while more than 43,000 electrical discharges were recorded on Monday.

Meteorologist Giorgos Tsatrafyllias predicts three waves of bad weather this week. The first wave is in progress, while the next ones are expected from Wednesday to Thursday and from Saturday to Sunday.

In Attica, limited rains are expected on Tuesday, with greater intensity on Thursday. The temperature will reach 15-16 degrees Celsius.

The National Meteorological Service (EMY) has issued an Emergency Weather Bulletin, warning of severe phenomena.
