Heatwave and African Dust: See the Maps

Following a prolonged heatwave affecting the country, a transfer of African dust is expected. According to the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY), on Sunday 27/07/25, maximum temperatures will reach 40-41 degrees Celsius in the eastern mainland, including Athens. In Thessaloniki, the mercury will reach 38-39 degrees. At the same time, atmospheric circulation favors the transfer of dust to the Central Mediterranean, mainly to the Ionian and western mainland.
