Italy: Investigation into Far-Right Individuals Paying to Kill in Sarajevo

Milan prosecutors are investigating allegations that far-right Italians paid to kill civilians during the siege of Sarajevo (1993-1995). According to reports, the alleged perpetrators paid Serbian soldiers to participate in the siege and shoot civilians.
The charges relate to homicides characterized by cruelty and shameful motives. The investigation was launched following a complaint by journalist Ezio Gavazzeni, based on testimonies and the documentary "Sarajevo Safari". The "snipers" gathered in Trieste and were transported to the hills around Sarajevo, where they paid militias of Radovan Karadzic.
Testimonies indicate that there was a "tariff" for the killings, with children "costing" more. According to Bosnian intelligence services, the Serbian State Security Service and the airline Aviogenex are involved in the case. The deposition of John Jordan, an American volunteer, mentions the presence of "tourist-snipers" in Sarajevo.
