Italy: Six Deaths Due to Heatwave in Southern Italy

Six people have died in Southern Italy since last Friday due to the heatwave named 'Camel', according to authorities.
The victims were bathers in the Salento area of Apulia, south of Bari. Today, a 60-year-old and an 81-year-old died of cardiac arrest on the beach. In previous days, a 19-year-old Austrian tourist, two men aged 71 and 66, and a 60-year-old Italian woman also died of cardiac arrest.
Doctors attribute the deaths to high temperatures, exceeding 43 degrees Celsius. The heatwave is expected to subside from Thursday, but temperatures will remain high in some areas.
