Italy: Teenager Found Dead in River Despite Warnings

A 16-year-old died in Comazzo, Italy, after drowning in a river despite clear warning signs.

The tragic incident occurred on Thursday, August 14, when the teenager, a resident of Spino d’Adda, jumped into the river and failed to resurface. Witnesses suggest a possible health issue or injury upon entering the water.

Despite warning signs, the spot is popular for swimming. A passerby alerted the authorities, and the 16-year-old was recovered by helicopter and taken to San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, where he died.

The mayor of Comazzo, Marco Pavese, expressed his grief, emphasizing the need to respect the prohibitions.
