Spain Wildfires: Over 1,000 Evacuated Amidst Chaos

Wildfires in northwestern Spain, fueled by high temperatures and strong winds, have led to the evacuation of over 1,000 people. Authorities are concerned about Las Médulas, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Approximately 400 people were evacuated from the community of Carucedo, and 700 from communities near Las Médulas, known for its Roman gold mines and reddish rock formations. Alfonso Manueco, head of the local government in Castile and León, mentioned possible arson.
Fires have also broken out in Galicia and Navarre. Spain is experiencing a heatwave with temperatures around 40° Celsius. Civil protection warns of a high risk of fires.
