Three people are missing after torrential rains caused flooding near Málaga and Granada in southern Spain. Civil Protection has called on residents to take precautionary measures.

The heavy rainfall caused 339 incidents in Andalusia, mainly in the province of Málaga, according to Antonio Sanz Cabello. The Spanish national meteorological service (Aemet) lowered the alert level from red to orange.

The region of Murcia was placed on red alert, while an appeal for caution was also made for the region of Valencia. Spain was also heavily affected by the floods of October 2024.
