Ireland: Catherine Connolly Wins Presidential Election

Independent left-wing candidate Catherine Connolly has won the presidential election in Ireland, according to ΑΠΕ-ΜΠΕ.
Her sole opponent, Heather Humphreys from the center-right Fine Gael party, conceded defeat, stating that Connolly will be a president for all.
Irish Deputy Prime Minister Simon Harris, also from Fine Gael, congratulated Connolly and wished her every success.
