Ireland: Presidential Election β Katherine Connolly Leads

Ireland is holding presidential elections today, with leftist candidate Katherine Connolly considered the frontrunner against Heather Humphreys.
Polling stations opened at 07:00 local time. Results are expected tomorrow, Saturday, evening.
Katherine Connolly, an independent left-wing MP, is supported by opposition parties, including the Greens and Sinn FΓ©in. She has expressed positions against increasing military spending and in favor of the country's neutrality.
Heather Humphreys comes from the center-right Fine Gael party.
The number of candidates is the smallest since 1990.
