UK: Snow and Ice Disrupt Northern Regions – School Closures in Scotland

Heavy snow and severe ice have disrupted northern areas of the United Kingdom, leading to the closure of dozens of schools, mainly in Scotland.
In some areas, the snow depth reaches up to 20 centimeters, significantly hindering daily activities. Over 90 schools in Aberdeenshire were closed, while another 22 closed in the Highlands. Authorities are warning of further adverse weather conditions.
Snowfall is particularly heavy in mountainous parts of Scotland, where the snow reaches 20 centimeters, while in northeastern England, especially in the Yorkshire uplands, the snow depth can reach 25 centimeters. The Meteorological Office warns of a high risk of accidents, power outages, and possible isolation of remote communities.
