India: One-Year-Old Boy Kills Cobra by Biting It

An incredible incident occurred in India where a one-year-old boy fatally bit a cobra. The incident took place near the India-Nepal border, in the town of Bettiah.

Little Govinda was playing outside his home when the snake wrapped around his hand. According to his grandmother, the child bit the snake instantly.

Following the incident, Govinda was taken to the Government Medical College Hospital (GMCH) in Bettiah. Doctors confirmed that the cobra died from head and mouth injuries.

The doctor who treated the child stated that the venom affected Govinda, but early treatment saved his life. His condition is stable and he is being monitored.

India has approximately 300 species of snakes, with 60 of them being highly venomous and responsible for many deaths from snake bites.
