Commission Supports Moldova's European Path

The European Union remains alongside Moldova in its efforts to join the European Union, according to statements by the President of the Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the High Representative, Kaja Kallas, on the occasion of the country's Independence Day.

In posts on social media, von der Leyen emphasized that today celebrates democracy in Moldova, the unwavering spirit of its people, and their love for freedom, assuring that the EU will continue to support the country on its path towards a common European future.

Kallas, also via a post, underlined that Moldova has demonstrated what independence means, namely the freedom to choose its own future, adding that Europe supports the country's journey towards the EU.
