Frank Caprio: Beloved 'Caught in Providence' Judge Passes Away

Frank Caprio, known for the 'Caught in Providence' show and his humane approach to justice, has died at the age of 88. He was known for his understanding and compassion towards citizens.

Born in 1936 in Rhode Island to Italian immigrants, Caprio worked from a young age and studied political science and law. He served as Chief Judge of the Providence Municipal Court from 1985.

Through the show 'Caught in Providence,' he became globally known for his humane treatment of defendants. His phrase 'I don't wear a badge under my robe. I wear a heart' became his trademark.

In 2023, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and kept his followers updated on his health. Governor Dan McKee ordered all flags at Rhode Island state buildings to be flown at half-staff in mourning.

Frank Caprio leaves behind a legacy of love, respect, and compassion.
