European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is facing two motions of censure from MEPs on the left and right. The debate begins today in the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

MEPs criticize Von der Leyen for a lack of transparency in trade agreements and for the handling of the war in Gaza.

French MEPs are attempting to bring the domestic political agenda to the European Parliament, following the resignation of Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu.

The vote will take place next Thursday. Von der Leyen relies on the support of the European People's Party and the Social Democrats.

Meanwhile, there is a shortage of 20 million euros to strengthen the European defense industry through the EDIP regulation. The Commission proposes using unspent funds from the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) or from SAFE.

The debate in the European Parliament begins at 5 p.m. with interventions by Jordan Bardella and Manon Aubry.
