A train worker in England is being hailed as a hero after intervening in a knife attack, saving passengers from the perpetrator who injured 11 people. The incident occurred on a train bound for London.

Transport Minister Heidi Alexander stated that the 32-year-old British perpetrator, Anthony Williams, was not known to counter-terrorism police or security services. He has been charged with attempted murder.

Police arrived at the scene within eight minutes of the first call. A knife was recovered, and authorities are reviewing security camera footage. The crew member who intervened is hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

The train made an emergency stop in Huntingdon, north of London. Authorities are not seeking any other suspects.
