An explosion occurred in a bar in Crans-Montana, a well-known ski resort in Switzerland, resulting in fatalities and injuries. Police have announced that they are investigating the cause of the explosion.

Gaetan Lathion, a spokesperson for the Valais cantonal police, stated that the explosion occurred at 01:30 local time at the Constellation bar. He added that there are many injured and dead.

The Swiss media outlet Blick reports that the fire was possibly caused by fireworks, but this has not been confirmed by the authorities. A helpline has been set up for the families of the victims.
