Greece Reacts to Turkish-Libyan Research Memorandum

The signing of a memorandum between the National Oil Corporation of Libya and the Turkish state-owned Petroleum Company "TRAO" for seismic research has provoked a strong reaction from Athens. Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis stressed that Greece will not accept any violation of its sovereign rights.

The map attributes the research to maritime zones south of Crete. Kyriakos Mitsotakis is expected to raise the issue at the European Council Summit.
