Train Derailment in Germany: Fatalities and Injuries Reported

A passenger train derailed near the town of Biberach in southwestern Germany, resulting in fatalities and injuries.
According to schwaebische.de, at least three people have died and 34 were injured. The derailment occurred around 18:10 local time in Biberach an der Riss.
A spokesperson for the responsible federal police in Stuttgart stated that two carriages of the Deutsche Bahn regional express train derailed. The train was traveling from Sigmaringen to Ulm and had 100 people on board.
Video from the scene shows firefighters and rescuers working at the derailed carriages. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
