A human trafficking ring has been dismantled in Poland, with authorities making 8 arrests and seizing assets worth over €800,000. The operation was carried out by the Polish Border Guard and the National Fiscal Administration in the Pomerania region on February 11.

The arrested individuals face charges of human trafficking and money laundering. The Elbląg District Court ordered the pre-trial detention of six of them for three months, while two were placed under restrictive measures.

During the operations, two perpetrators attempted to escape, with police using their weapons to stop the vehicles. Searches were conducted at 17 locations, where cash, gold, jewelry, and drugs were seized.

The group, under investigation since 2024, consisted mainly of citizens of Ukraine, Poland, and Uzbekistan. It allegedly recruited foreigners, mainly from Latin America, with false promises of work, forcing them into forced labor.

Authorities estimate the value of the seized assets at 3.6 million złoty, and 28 bank accounts with balances exceeding 3.8 million złoty have been frozen.
