EU Aims to Double Offshore Wind Energy Capacity

The European Union plans to intensify efforts to produce more green energy, with a focus on offshore wind power. European governments are looking to accelerate the construction of offshore wind energy, mainly to promote the electrification of the economy.

According to WindEurope, a target of 40 GW of new offshore wind capacity has been set by 2030. A key tool for achieving this goal will be 'trilateral agreements,' which were discussed at the informal meeting of EU Energy Ministers last week.
