Argentina: 13-Year-Old Killed, Eight Injured in School Shooting

A 13-year-old student was killed and eight others were injured in a shooting at a school in San Cristóbal, Santa Fe province, Argentina. The perpetrator, a 15-year-old student, has been arrested.
The incident occurred at the Mariano Moreno N°40 Pedagogical School around 7:15 AM local time, while students were participating in the flag raising ceremony. The 15-year-old took a gun from his backpack and began shooting at his classmates.
Witnesses say the perpetrator had hidden the gun in a guitar case. Authorities are investigating whether the attack is related to bullying incidents. The governor of Santa Fe, Maximiliano Pullaro, expressed his shock at the incident.
Authorities have declared two days of mourning in the area and classes have been suspended. The local prosecutor's office is investigating the circumstances of the attack.
Attacks of this type are extremely rare in Argentina.
