Arson Attempt at Hagia Sophia in Istanbul

Turkish media reported a video of an arson attempt at Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. According to reports, a man wearing a red hat set fire to papers inside the temple on July 11, after the night prayer.

The fire was noticed by those present and extinguished before it spread. Police have arrested a suspect whose identity has not yet been released.

A woman notified the imam about the fire, while another intervened to prevent it from spreading. Authorities are also investigating a case of issuing fake diplomas in Turkey.
