Sudan: Ten Killed in Drone Strike in Darfur Market

At least ten people were killed by a drone strike on a market in Darfur, a region in western Sudan controlled by paramilitaries. Rescue services did not identify who was responsible.
In the Kordofan region, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have focused their operations. Humanitarian organizations have evacuated their staff from Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan, which has been under siege for 18 months.
According to the Rapid Response Core, the strike in the town of Al Malha caused a fire in shops. The North Darfur region fell into the hands of the RSF in March.
Doctors Without Borders warned of a measles epidemic in Darfur, with more than 1,300 hospitalized since September. The organization reported that delays in vaccine delivery are leaving children unprotected.
The war has caused the displacement of millions of people and the collapse of the health system. Following the capture of El Fasher by the RSF, 107,000 civilians fled. The RSF have now turned their attention to Kordofan.
The UN warned of potential atrocities in Kordofan, similar to those in El Fasher. In Kadugli, humanitarian organizations evacuated their staff due to deteriorating security conditions. The UN confirmed that famine is spreading in the city.
The country is divided into zones controlled by the army and those occupied by the RSF.
