The President of Congress, Fernando Rospigliosi, called the congresswoman's behavior "reprehensible" and demanded her immediate punishment, stressing that it constitutes a "humiliation of Congress employees."

The chairman of the ethics committee, Elvis Vergara, announced that he would act on his own initiative and request an investigation against Lucinda Vásquez.
