Over 100 Killed in Pakistan in Balochistan Attacks

At least 100 people have been killed in Balochistan, Pakistan, in hours-long attacks by separatists. According to authorities, 18 civilians, 15 members of the security forces, and 92 insurgents were killed.

The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attacks, which targeted army and police installations.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his support for the armed forces and accused India of supporting the separatists.

Baloch separatists claim their region is being looted by the central government, with 70% of residents living in poverty despite rich hydrocarbon deposits.

In 2024, the conflict had a heavy toll with over 1,600 deaths.
