Pakistan: Landslides Leave Three Dead, Several Missing

Three people have died and 15 are missing after landslides in Pakistan, triggered by heavy monsoon rains. Many of the victims were tourists visiting the Gilgit-Baltistan province.
The landslides occurred in a mountainous area, burying over 10 vehicles. Rescuers also recovered four injured individuals, one of whom is in critical condition, according to Faizullah Faraq, a government spokesperson.
The floods have caused damage to homes, bridges, and hotels, while also blocking key roads. Summer monsoons are vital for agriculture, but the heavy rainfall has caused the death of 221 people since late June.
The meteorological service warns of an increased risk of torrential rains and flooding in the northern and eastern provinces. Pakistan is still recovering from the devastating floods of 2022.
