Pakistan: Over 100 Killed in Separatist Attacks

At least 18 civilians, including women and children, 15 members of the security forces, and 92 insurgents have been killed in hours-long separatist attacks in Pakistan's Balochistan province.
The attacks occurred following an announcement by the Pakistani army that it had killed 41 separatists in the same region. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif accused India of supporting the separatists.
The separatists launched coordinated attacks on over 12 locations. Among the civilian deaths were at least three women and three children. The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attacks.
In Quetta, multiple explosions were heard, and rail services were suspended. In the Mastung area, separatists released 30 prisoners and attacked a police station.
Balochistan province has been a conflict zone for decades, with separatists alleging exploitation by the central government. In 2024, the conflict resulted in over 1,600 deaths.
