Tehran Water Crisis: Public Toilets Close, Lockdown Considered

Tehran is facing a severe water crisis, with authorities closing public toilets as part of coping measures. According to Didban Iran and Shargh, President Pezeshkian's government is also considering reducing working days to four or even closing the city for a week.
The move has sparked outrage, with many residents expressing their frustration on social media. It is estimated that there are approximately 20,000 public toilets in the greater Tehran area.
Water outages have reached up to 48 hours in various areas of Tehran and in 50 other cities. Simultaneously, power outages make it impossible to use air conditioning, even when temperatures exceed 40 degrees Celsius.
President Pezeshkian described the situation as a "natural disaster" and warned that it could worsen as water reserves dwindle.
