China: At Least 9 Dead, 3 Missing in Floods

At least 9 people have died and 3 are missing after sudden floods in Inner Mongolia, northern China. The incident occurred when a group of 13 campers were caught in the Urad region.
One person was rescued, and more than 700 rescuers are involved in the search operations for the missing. The Ministry of Emergency Management has sent a team to the area.
Natural disasters are common in China, especially during the summer. In early August, torrential rains in Gansu province resulted in at least 13 deaths. In July, heavy rainfall in the northern suburbs of Beijing left at least 44 dead.
China is the world's largest emitter of greenhouse gases, which exacerbates climate change and increases the frequency of extreme weather events.
