Small Cyclades Among Europe's Unexplored Treasures

The Small Cyclades are highlighted as one of Europe's ten unexplored treasures, according to a report in the British newspaper Express. The report, in collaboration with travel experts, emphasizes the growing trend of travelers seeking less commercial destinations.
Koufonisia ranks tenth on the Express list, described as two small islands with exotic coasts and turquoise waters. The British Mirror also mentioned Heraklia, characterizing it as an island that has maintained its authenticity, away from mass tourism.
According to the Mirror's feature, Heraklia has a small population, which has contributed to the preservation of the natural landscape. The architecture of the villages is Cycladic, with whitewashed houses and small churches.
The Municipality of Naxos and Small Cyclades continues its efforts to promote the region, participating in exhibitions and promoting the destination through social media and press trips. The Deputy Mayor of Tourism, Vangelis Katsaras, stated that arrivals in Naxos in May increased, with air arrivals showing a 31% increase.
