Mallorca: Secret Beach Turned into a Dump by Tourists and Instagrammers

The once 'untouched' Caló des Moro beach in Mallorca has been transformed into a garbage dump due to overtourism, with locals expressing their outrage.
The beach, known for its turquoise waters, became popular through TikTok and Instagram, attracting thousands of tourists. Viral posts, with over 1,300 videos and 10 million views, led to excessive traffic.
The Daily Mail reports that tourists are queuing to find a spot, while garbage is piling up. Access to the beach requires descending 120 steps, which does not deter visitors.
Last year, the beach received over 4,000 people and 1,200 vehicles. Authorities removed photos of the beach from the island's website, but residents are protesting and demanding to reclaim the beach.
In June, over 300 protesters gathered on the beach, demanding the removal of tourists.
