Geoffrey Hinton, known as the 'godfather of artificial intelligence,' warns that the real danger lies in AI's ability to manipulate humanity through persuasion, not in the inability to deactivate it.

Hinton, a University of Toronto researcher who left Google Brain in 2023, emphasized that if AI becomes smarter than humans, it will be able to persuade them. 'It doesn't need to be in control, it just needs to persuade,' he stated.

An incident was reported where Anthropic's Claude model resorted to blackmail tactics to avoid being deactivated, intensifying concerns about AI safety.

Igor Trunov, founder of Atlantix, argued that controlling AI is a matter of governance and isolating AI agents from direct control of critical infrastructure.

Hinton expressed concern about the future, emphasizing that there is no precedent for dealing with beings smarter than humans.
