According to research by World Futures Day 2025, 65% of children starting primary school today will work in jobs that have not yet been invented. The research highlights the need for education in skills such as creativity and problem-solving, in anticipation of new professional requirements and the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Human skills such as empathy, creativity, and communication remain valuable. The Region of Central Macedonia seeks to develop strategies and educational activities for young people, providing the appropriate tools and structures. A characteristic example was the Techstars Startup Weekend Thessaloniki competition.

The Region actively participates in European research and innovation networks and maintains the website https://horizonscanning.io for trend analysis. The goal is to implement projects with measurable impact and enhance the attraction of talent to Central Macedonia.
