Pixel Drop: Smartphone becomes a computer with desktop mode

The desktop mode feature, after months of testing, allows Google Pixel smartphones to function like computers when connected to an external display via USB-C.
Google Pixel 8 and newer device owners will now have the ability to use their phones for productivity with a multi-window experience similar to that of a desktop environment.
Upon connection, Android displays a desktop-like interface. Users can connect a keyboard and mouse to use applications on a larger screen, making multitasking easier.
Additionally, the update brings desktop windowing to the Pixel Tablet, allowing users to open multiple applications and resize windows.
The March Pixel Drop also enhances artificial intelligence capabilities. Gemini AI can assist with tasks such as ordering food, booking transportation, or creating a shopping list. This feature is in beta and is not immediately available on all devices.
The update has begun rolling out to compatible Pixel devices, but it is being rolled out gradually, so some features may appear later.
