Hideki Sato, Architect of SEGA Consoles, Passes Away

The world of videogames mourns the loss of Hideki Sato, the engineer closely associated with Sega. He passed away at the age of 77, according to Japanese media.
Sato joined Sega in 1971 and played a crucial role in the development of consoles such as the SG-1000, Sega Master System, Sega Mega Drive, Sega Saturn, and Sega Dreamcast. He served as interim president of the company between 2001 and 2003.
The Sega Mega Drive holds a special place in videogame history, establishing Sega as a major player in the market, bringing titles like Sonic the Hedgehog to millions of homes.
Sato also participated in the design of arcade systems and the SC-3000 computer. He left Sega in 2008.
The news of his death has sparked emotion in the gaming community, with many calling him the "father of Sega hardware".
