Michael Dertouzos: Visionary of the Internet and MIT Professor

Yesterday marked 23 years since the death of Michael Dertouzos, the Greek professor of computer science at MIT and visionary of the Internet. He passed away on July 27, 2001, at the age of 65.

Michael Dertouzos served as director of the Laboratory for Computer Science Research at MIT. Google honored his memory with a Doodle.

In a Facebook post, Thanos Kapsalis commented on the incidents outside the Israeli embassy in Athens, referring to a terrorist act. He also noted the consequences of the Israeli offensive in Gaza, where more than 62,000 Palestinians have been killed.
