Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited ICEYE's facilities in Neo Psychiko, where the first two Greek SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellites are being manufactured. The satellites are expected to be in orbit by the end of 2025.

ICEYE Hellas plans to begin full satellite construction in Greece by 2026, making Greece the second location in Europe where the company will build satellites from scratch.

The satellites will be used for environmental monitoring, natural disaster management, and defense and security applications. Mr. Mitsotakis emphasized the importance of investments in defense and security, as well as Greece's contribution to Europe's technological progress.

Minister of Digital Governance Dimitris Papastergiou stated that ICEYE did not simply open an office in Greece, but is manufacturing Greek microsatellites, with parts of global production now being manufactured in Greece.

The visit was also attended by Deputy Minister Christos Dermenτζopoulos, ICEYE CEO Rafał Modrzewski, and ICEYE Hellas head Vasilis Chaloulakos.
