Apple Issues Emergency Warning for Security Flaws in iPhones and iPads
Share on:

Apple has issued an emergency warning to iPhone and iPad users following the discovery of serious security vulnerabilities that could lead to "highly sophisticated attacks."

The attacks appear to be limited to "specific targeted individuals." Apple has released immediate security updates to address the vulnerabilities.

The security flaws are found in WebKit, the browser engine powering Safari and all iOS browsers. A malicious website could trick a device into running code, allowing hackers to gain control and install applications without the user's permission.

The vulnerabilities are identified as CVE-2025-43529 and CVE-2025-14174. The attacks have been observed on iOS versions prior to 16.

Affected devices include iPhone 11 and later models, multiple generations of iPad Pro, iPad Air (3rd generation and later), iPad (8th generation and later), and iPad mini (5th generation and later).
