Scam Alert: Do Not Answer If This Number Calls – Fake Calls from Google

Beware! Fraudulent phone calls are circulating where perpetrators impersonate Google employees. They use spoofed numbers, such as +1 (650) 253-0000, and inform users of alleged 'suspicious login attempts' on their accounts.

They then ask for an immediate password change. In reality, this is phishing. If you reveal your password or click on a link, the scammers gain full access to your account and data.

Google has denied reports of a leak of 2.5 billion Gmail accounts but confirms an increase in targeted attacks via phone scams.
