Egypt Bans Access to Roblox Gaming Platform

Egypt has banned access to the Roblox gaming platform, citing reasons of protecting minors. The decision follows calls from senators for stricter control of access to the platform.
Senator Walaa Hermes warned that excessive use of Roblox could lead to "anxiety, bullying, and incitement to violence" among children. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi had called for stricter legislation to protect children from the risks associated with mobile phone use.
A Roblox spokesperson stated that the company has offered to discuss the issue with the Egyptian authorities. The platform, developed by the American Roblox Corporation, allows users to create and share their own game worlds and is used daily by nearly 150 million users worldwide.
Roblox has already been banned in countries such as Russia, Qatar, Turkey, and Iraq.
