US Open: Sakkari Advances Easily to Third Round

Maria Sakkari dominated her second-round match at the US Open, defeating Anna Bondar 6-3, 6-1. The Greek tennis player advanced to the third round, where she will face Beatriz Haddad Maia.

In the first set, Sakkari saved three break points in the 5th game and then broke Bondar's serve to take a 4-2 lead. Although Bondar responded with a break, Sakkari broke again and won the set 6-3.

In the second set, Sakkari completely dominated, taking a 3-0 lead with two breaks. Bondar reduced the score to 3-1, but Sakkari responded immediately and finished the set 6-1, securing her place in the next round of the 2025 US Open.
