Sakkari to Face Swiatek at Indian Wells

Maria Sakkari will face Iga Swiatek in the 3rd round of Indian Wells in California. This marks the second time in just over a month that the two tennis players will compete against each other, following Sakkari's victory over Swiatek in Doha on February 12.

Swiatek, ranked No. 2 in the world, faced some difficulty against American Kayla Day (No. 187), but ultimately prevailed with 6-0, 7-6(2), setting up her match with Sakkari.

On February 12, Sakkari defeated Swiatek with 2-6, 6-4, 7-5, securing a significant advancement to the semifinals of the Doha tournament. This was Sakkari's 4th victory in eight total matches against Swiatek.

The winner of the Sakkari-Swiatek match will face the winner of the match between Karolina Muchova and Antonia Ruzic.
