Naomi Osaka Withdraws from Australian Open

Naomi Osaka has withdrawn from the Australian Open citing physical condition issues. The two-time Australian Open champion (2019, 2021) and No. 17 in the world rankings, stated that her body needs attention after her match with Sorana Cirstea.
"I had to make the tough decision to withdraw in order to address something my body needs attention for after my last match," Osaka wrote.
Her opponent, Madison Inglis, advances to the "round of 16" without a match. The withdrawal is a blow to Osaka, who reached the semi-finals of the US Open last year.
