Real Madrid: Vinícius to Leave Due to Alonso?

Crisis at Real Madrid as Vinícius Júnior reportedly informed Florentino Pérez that he doesn't want to renew his contract due to a strained relationship with coach Xabi Alonso.

According to The Athletic, Vinícius expressed his concerns to Pérez in a meeting in late October, following an outburst during the match against Barcelona. The Brazilian reacted strongly to being substituted by Alonso.

Tensions began in the semi-final of the Club World Cup, where Alonso initially intended to leave Vinícius on the bench. Since then, the relationship between the two men has deteriorated.

Vinícius signed his last renewal in 2022, with annual earnings of €18 million and a release clause of €1 billion. Real offered him an increase to €20 million, but the player's representatives requested €30 million.

Real Madrid is concerned about the discontent in the roster and hopes for an improvement in the relationship between player and coach.
