Rashford: 'Barcelona Call-Up to National Team, Not United'

Marcus Rashford believes his move to Barcelona played a crucial role in his return to the England national team. The 27-year-old winger, who last played for the national team in March 2024, had been sidelined at Manchester United.

Then England coach Gareth Southgate left him out of the Euro 2024 squad. His move to Barcelona in the summer of 2025 seems to have revitalized his career.

The new national team coach, Thomas Tuchel, stated that Rashford is 'making a difference at Barcelona' and recalled him to the team for the matches against Wales and Latvia.

Asked if his move to Barcelona improved his prospects for the World Cup, Rashford replied affirmatively and added: 'I don't think I would have been called up if I had stayed at Manchester United.'
